J T Gray Posted 28 July , 2005 Share Posted 28 July , 2005 I've dicovered an over-age soldier who probably died of Influenza serving with the 452nd Protection Company, Royal Defence Corps. I have googled the RDC and found out about it's role, but am just wondering whether any records might survive of what the individual companies were up to and where. He is also buried in his home town. Given that he was on home service, would he be likely to have been buried where he died, or bought home by his family, I wonder? He is not an especially close relation, I guess I am just being nosy... Any assistance would be much appreciated, thank you. Adrian
Graham Stewart Posted 28 July , 2005 Share Posted 28 July , 2005 Adrian, I believe there are Home Army Orders of Battle located within the N.A. at Kew, so you may find them listed there. Also the Royal Defence Corps Medal Roll Books are really good, as they not only give you the usual information, but also the individuals previous unit/units with dates having served overseas. Graham.
