Private George Smyth,

Royal Irish Rifles

Regimental number 9001

Medals

Victory Medal (the codes refer to the Medal Rolls to which the card is an index)

British War Medal (although you haven't listed it there will probably be a "Do" or Ditto in the box next to the printed medal name. These first 2 medals were nearly always issued as a pair.

1914 Star (for overseas duty in France or Flanders before 23-11-1914, he arrived in France 6-11-1914 and therefore qualifies)

Clasp for the 1914 Star which signifies that he was "under fire" during that time.

Kim A = KIA = Killed in Action

I see you have already got his information from CWGC & SDGW.

Hope this helps,

Steve.
