egbert Posted 25 July , 2005 Share Posted 25 July , 2005 Please advise and if possible exactly - "as accurate as possible" - point out where this location n/w of Merville would be: British Trench Map Ref.36a(NE4).K.16.c.8.4. Is it also possible to locate on a modern 1:50.000 or smaller map?

The red dot on the below map represents your reference. Afraid I don't have anything less than 1:100,000 for this area on a modern map though. Dave. egbert Posted 26 July , 2005 Author Share Posted 26 July , 2005 Thanx Dave for pointing out the exact location; it is a blow in my research effort; the result is not what I expected in my dreams..... Anybody knows where in Daves map snippet the frontline run April/May 1918?
CROONAERT Posted 26 July , 2005 Share Posted 26 July , 2005 Anybody knows where in Daves map snippet the frontline run April/May 1918? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Obviously, it depends on the exact date required, but on 18th April (map below), the front-line was approx 1.5km to the west of my above extract. (Your reference is around the area of the first "R" in "Bourre" on the map below) (Bet you didn't want to hear that either, did you? ) Dave.
