Terry_Reeves Posted 25 July , 2005 Share Posted 25 July , 2005 Rod If your Great Grandfather had a reserve commitment and was recalled for service, his service documents, if they have survived, will be in the WW1 soldiers documents series which would tell you about his pre-war career as well. However, if you think he had served during the Boer War for instance, there is a possiblity that you will find his name on the medal roll for that period, but you would need know his regiment.
