Des, he appears not to be listed in SDGW. There are two soldiers listed with that number, but neither called Wylie, and there are three soldiers called Robert Wylie, two infantrymen and one a cavalrymen.

Thanks Tom

Hmmmm. This is what CWGC says:-

Name: WYLIE

Initials: R

Nationality: United Kingdom

Rank: Pioneer

Regiment: Royal Engineers

Unit Text: Inland Waterways and Docks

Date of Death: 29/01/1918

Service No: 331411

Casualty Type: Commonwealth War Dead

Grave/Memorial Reference: 214 (South-East of tower).

Cemetery: BALLYMENA OLD CHURCHYARD

I'm wondering if he's the father of a Pioneer Wylie who gets a gallantry 'card' in 1914/15 and is then discharged as unfit for further service.

Or could he have rejoined on a 'home service' basis?

Des - I see that Pnr. Wylie died in January 1918. SDGW has quite a few gaps when it comes to soldiers who died in 1918. Perhaps this is an example of that.
