Old Tom Posted 13 July , 2005 Share Posted 13 July , 2005 Hello, I do not expect the brigadier general called his event a battlefield tour. But the voluntary line in the notice suggests otherwise. It may be that the brigade or the unit was new to the western front and an officers day would be valuable in showing how the operations in July, a failure, and in September, a sucess were conducted.
