I'll second that, an absolute treasure trove and an enormous amount of work in it.

Found this site ages ago, then lost it. Thankyou for bringing it up. I have spent most of the day on it.

Good accounts of the times at the time, especially the animals.

Cheers

They have -

Website worth a look

As I was saying to someone the other day - if you post something really helpful it gets ignored for about a year, at which point someone else posts exactly the same information and is awarded a medal for his effort...

Such is forum life...

Missed that Sue, as you say it's a funny old place this forum.

Regarding your (linked) post and the copyright issue - does anyone actually own the copyright for a periodical published over 90 years ago - I am not sure?

Very good site. The Art section is interesting. I don't know what fellow members think, but our artist guys could give some of them a run for their money. Regards Steve.

We get back to the long circuitous copyright issues again! I find it hard to believe that all of the stuff on the site is free of copyright and reproduction rights. I'm not sure who would police whether all the authors had been dead for 50+ years, but if it's that easy to publish postcards, posters, magazine covers, whole books and articles, there must be a lot of us pussy-footing around worrying about using the teeniest little bits and pieces for publication.

If that is considered above board, then it would make my life a whole lot easier!

When my medal arrives - I will forward it on to you :)

Sorry to steal your find - anyway as long as everyone gets to see it now - we'll all be happy. ;)

But no, it was never mine - you must send it to Des!

I'm sure I have been due a few others, but let bygones be bygones

Another great site,

Rebekah is going to have no problem with her history projects when she starts her gcse this september, her problem will be which books does she use from our extensive library and which site to use!!!!!!
