Why cant i find MID in London Gazette?

Hi , On my great grandads(Francis Charles Williams) MIC for his MSM it has a mentioned in despatches and i have done some research and found out the (60) in brackets is the gazette issue number, i then found out this means published on either 18/24/30 January 1919 or 22 Feb 1919.

I have checked these dates on the London Gazette website in the archives and i have been through all of the dates looking for him, searched just under Williams and there is no mention of him anywhere.

Why could this be?

Anybody any ideas, or have i done something incorrectly?

Kev.

Link to his MSM.

Date published (which the Gazette searches by) = 31-12-1918

Search criteria = "williams f. c."

His Majesty The KING has been graciously pleased to approve of the award of the Meritorious Service Medal to the undermentioned Warrant Officers, Non-Commissioned Officers and Men in recognition of valuable services rendered with the British Forces in Italy: —

GLOUCESTERSHIRE REGIMENT.

265008 Coy./Q.M.Sjt. Williams, F. C., 6th Bn. (T.F.) (Bristol).

Which one were you after MID or MSM?

No citations for either MSMs or MIDs are published, by the way.

Steve.

These men from the same battalion were also gazetted the same day. Their medal awards COULD be tied in with CQMS Williams' MSM?

265424 Sjt. Witcombe, E., 6th Bn. (T.F.) (Bristol).

265797 Cpl. Campbell, W., 6th Bn. (T.F.) (Bristol).

Thank you all so much, that is great, been searching the gazette for months!!!

Can any of you tell me though why issue 60 is listed on the national archives site as the dates i mentions earlier, when it was 31 december 1918?

Thanks again,

Kev.
