I have been doing some work on S/Lt Osmond. He Joined the 2nd Batt the Bedford Regt in 1890 and served 12 years he was discharged 1902 with 2 medals for the Boer War. In 1911 he joined the National Reserve. Joined the 17 Batt the Royal Fusiliers on the 9 Sept 1914 and given a commission in the 18 Batt Middlesex Regt 10th May 1915. He was wounded at Givenchy 30 Nov 1915. At the same time the Div Comd was Recommending that he be called upon to relinquish hes commission with 3 other Officers.

Temp Capt E D Kennedy 11 Service Batt East Surrey Regt.

Temp Lt W.H.H. Kettle 9th Service Batt Border Regt.

Temp S/Lt F.E.G Jennings 18 Service Batt Middlesex Regt.

This informaion did not get to him until the 15 Jan 1916.

The Batt Commander says 2/Lt Osmond appears to be unlikely to become efficient plt comd under the conditions which prevail here. He is to familiar with the NCOs and not the right type of man. Dos any one have a Photo of 2/Lt Osmand or any of the other Officers
