sean finnis Posted 3 July , 2005 Share Posted 3 July , 2005 Hello to all, Im trying to find any information regarding a Great uncle of mine, 18484 Charles Finnis MM, 8th East Surreys. Charles won the Military Medal in the September 1916 fighting for the Schwaben Redoubt. He died of wounds on 5th October 1916. Born Mortlake enlisted Kingston Upon Thames 8th East Surreys were part of 55th Brigade 18th (Eastern) Division and the Division was in the area of the Schwaben Redoubt from around the 28th of September until the 15th of October.
