68 Battery RFA in 1902-5

Only slightly off topic! Could anyone tell me anything about 68 Battery RFA, in the period 1902-5? I believe it was always at a home station. Any snippets of interest would be great.

Also, does anyone know what a 1 GC (or possibly I GC) Badge would be granted for, and what it looked like? This was given to a soldier I am studying, in 1904.

In 1905, 68 Battery was part of XIV Brigade RFA stationed at Woolwich.

A good conduct badge was an inverted chevron worn just above the uniform cuff. Men, under the rank of Cpl, 2nd Cpl or bombadier, who enlisted prior to April 1st 1902, and did not elect to receive service pay, were granted 1d per day for each good conduct badge:

One badge - 2 years service

Two badges 5 years service

Three badges -12 years service

Four Badges - 18 years service

Five badges - 23 years service

Six badges - 28 years service.

A soldier could receive the 4th, 5th and 6th badges 2 years earlier if he had 14 years clear of a regimental entry on his conduct sheet.
