Max Poilu Posted 6 July , 2005 Share Posted 6 July , 2005 There is not much to add to what Patrick said really. The remains of a British soldier probably killed during the First World War were discovered on Monday in Monchy close to Arras according to the CWGC. Some bones as well as a helmet, a piece of belt, cartridges and leather parts of a shoe were found during construction of a grain storage facility. The date of death and the unit are not known. Photographs will be sent to the British ministry of Defense to try to identify the soldier or his regiment, in order to offer him "a burial in dignity in one of the military cemeteries of the Commonwealth in France.
