Hambo Posted 30 June , 2005 Share Posted 30 June , 2005 Draperju They were Westhoek "and the neighbourhood" from the 15th to the 23rd of April. They had been reinforced the week before with a draft of 230 men. On the 17th they were heavily shelled with the result that CSM Field and 11 others were wounded. At the time a German offensive had developed south of Ypres causing the loss of Messines Ridge and Kemmel Hill. They moved back on the 23rd to the town ramparts at Ypres Source Historical Records of The Buffs 1914-1918 Hope this helps Hambo
Michael Posted 30 June , 2005 Share Posted 30 June , 2005 Moody is wrong in this instance. Thirteen other ranks from A and D Companys were injured on the 17th when posts 7 and 8 were shelled. B and C Companys were in camp. Robinson only served in the 1st Bn.
