Hello

Does anyone know if the volumes of the National Roll of Honour for London also cover the Home Counties.

If not was there any other volumes that cover these areas ?

Cheers

Bill

With regard to the 4 London Volumes, Not in the sense of the Home Counties today. But looking at the entries for South of the River, some of the areas mentioned were regarded as Surrey in 1914-1918, such as Southwark.

As an update on a (long time ) previous post. "Archive CD Books" , which can be found at National Roll has 3 of the London volumes available on CD-ROM. They also have the Rolls for Salford,Manchester, Leeds, Portsmouth, Southampton and Birmingham available.I can't remember the price, but £14 each sticks in my mind.

Hello Bill,

With regard to Essex, I don't know - my interest has always been South of the River!

If you ever get to the PRO or NA, they have a full set of the 14 volumes of the National Roll plus the index in hardcopy in their library. Perhaps your local library or local history centre does. We do down the Borough.

Thanks Dave for the info and thanks Ian for the advice,

My local library does have the index for the National Roll.
