Doug Lewis Posted 9 July , 2003 Share Posted 9 July , 2003 Could anyone tell me if death certificates were issued to the familys of men killed in action or died at home. If so would copies of these be available in the registrars office local to where the man last lived or where family lived. Thanks Doug

robwilliams Posted 9 July , 2003 Share Posted 9 July , 2003 Doug, I believe that the index for deaths overseas are to be found at the PRO in a special section of the general GRO indexes (look for the section housing the 1901 census). My experience (limited) of WW1 death certificates is one of very limited information. Rob
