Chris_B Posted 27 June , 2005 Share Posted 27 June , 2005 I'm looking for information about L/CPL 10893 J.G.Keep (Joseph Keep) of the Middlesex Regiment, a regular soldier who fought at Mons and is thought to have been awarded the DCM during some stage of the Great War. Out of three brothers who served in the conflict, Joseph was the only one to survive. I cannot find him in the gazettes-online, but then someone else with the magic touch might. Any info would help. Thanks, Chris.
Terry_Reeves Posted 27 June , 2005 Share Posted 27 June , 2005 Chris 4th Bn, Middlesex Regiment, London Gazette 10.3 1916. "For conspicuous gallantry and enterprise. Serjeant Fisher and Corporal Keep went out again and again and bombed enemy working parties and trenches, returning each time for a fresh supply of bombs. Serjeant Fisher has since been wounded. Corporal Keep was conspicuous for bravery when bringing in the wounded of another regiment". If you enter his number only, you will get the original citation on your screen.
