squirrel Posted 27 June , 2005 Share Posted 27 June , 2005 Was in France & Belgium last week and saw two newish headstones, one at Lapugnoy and one at China Wall. Both had Black Watch badges but the regiment was inscribed Royal Highlanders. I've seen the Black Watch referred to as 42nd Foot and The Royal Highland Regiment but only seen Black Watch on other stones. Can't recall seeing Royal Highlanders as a name for the Black Watch before; is this correct?
