Steven Broomfield Posted 27 June , 2005 Share Posted 27 June , 2005 From the History of the RND, the Brown Line I think you refer to was an intermediate position/objective for the 188th and 189th Bdes, attacking from Bucquoy, and was a little to the east of Logeast Wood. It was attacked by 2 coys each of the Anson, Drake and Hawke Bns, and all of the RM Bn. The Brown Line was also the limit of the British barrage, with tank support from there on. If you want more info, let me know, but is there anything in particular you want? By the way, there is no individuality about the 'Brown' - colours were frequently used for objectives.
