There were three children listed as born in 1905 and after. Do you know anything more about the soldier you are looking for, such as if he was married etc. ? Duncan Posted 26 June , 2005 Author Share Posted 26 June , 2005 Hi, No I don't I'm afraid. It's an odd one this. I have his 1914/15 Star to Pte 3-7294 H.J.F. Taylor, Devon Regiment. I think the 3/ prefix refers to the fact that he was a pre-war Territorial. He landed in France on 1 Jan 1915, and was discharged on 28 Sept 1915. There is no reason for his discharge and no Silver War Badge mentioned. Your family in Lewsham certainly seem an odd coincidence! Duncan. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Looking at the MIC you posted on that Topic, I would read his name as Harold and not Harved. I think the MIC with "Harved" on it has been transcribed incorrectly... Steve. Also in the 1901 census there is a Taylor family residing at Sanger Buildings, Royal Mews. New Winsor, Castle Ward.
