I have a friend who wants to find some info on his dad who was killed in the mid 1930's whilst serving in the royal navy and i know the Pro is not the place to go but is it the MOD or the admiralty or what?

thanks in advance.

Arm.

Details of the deaths of RN men are held at the PRO and are available until the end of WW2.

They are held in huge volumes of largely typewritten text. They give basic details including location, ship/base and detailed cause of death (inc nature of illness, method of suicide etc etc).

They are held in ADM 104/127 to 149 (ratings only).
