draperju Posted 21 June , 2005 Share Posted 21 June , 2005 I am researching the following soldiers who died in 1918 West Yorkshire Regiment Private C Smith 15th/17th Battalion who died 12th April 1918 Private R W Smith 1/7th Battalion who died 16th April 1918 Private J Dunwoodie who died 25th April 1918 I would grateful for any information on where these battalion were to be found and what they were doing on the day they were killed. The 1/8th gets quite compicated as it basically doesn't exist after 31st January, when, it is amalgamated with the 2/8th Battalion at Roclincourt, near Arras, to form the 8th Battalion, West Yorkshire Regiment.
