Guest Ann Laws Posted 19 June , 2005 Share Posted 19 June , 2005 Thomas Hendley was my grandmothers brother. I have just started to research him. He was born in 1893 in St Lukes Middlesex. This very damaged photo is all I have to try and trace his military history. Any help in identifying his unit would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Ann Laws
Paul Reed Posted 19 June , 2005 Share Posted 19 June , 2005 Looks like artillery; impossible to say whether Horse, Field or Garrison. The photo is also taken in 1918-19, as he has overseas chevrons on his right cuff. It looks like three, which probably means he went overseas in 1916. Simon Jones Posted 19 June , 2005 Share Posted 19 June , 2005 Ann This could be his campaign medal index card (click on the link) which shows someone of his name in the Royal Garrison Artillery. Regards Simon
