1st Batt Gloucester Regt

Any Glos chaps have any information as to where the 1st Batt were on the 9th May 1915. I am researching Sgt John Robert DEAN 7183 who died aged 29 on that day. He is remembered on the Le Touret Memorial

9th May 1915 battle of Aubers Ridge

From Rue de Bois trenches, the 1st battalion attacked enemy positions in direction of Ferme du Bois. Attack held up by severe MG fire.

Battalion lost 4 officers killed, 7 wounded, and 253 OR killed and wounded.
