This sldier frm Barton upon Humber was afriend of T E Lawrence who visited Barton. He died at Achi Baba on 6 Au 15 charging over a Turkish parapet. He was an egyptologist who was a McGill Univ in Montreal and happened to be in Fance whe the war broke out. He designed his own heiroglyphic code. Is thre a photo of him anywhere Ta Sean

If your interest is because he was local to you ie. your both from Barton uon Humber then try your record office as a local newspaper may have carried a photo and short obituary following his death.
