Remembered Today:

Moustapha Pacha Barracks

Recommended Posts

This picture is assumed to be of Moustapha Pacha Barracks

(a.k.a Mustapha Barracks) in Alexandria, Egypt. It has been

identified by the large building in the distance. The picture was

taken by my great uncle, Lt. J. D. Cox RFA, either before or

after he went to Salonika in 1917/18.

I have a few more general views of the grounds if anyone is

interested.

Hi David

Always interested in more Egypt / Palestine info mate, if you would care to share it? Never seems to be enough IMHO!

Thanks Roop for confirming my suspicions.

Here is another view.

Is that tower still there?

Here is another view taken from around the same location as the tower shot.

The signs say that the water from the pipes was "Unfit for drinking or bathing".

These are original negatives which I have improved a bit using a program

called Neat Image that gets rid of some of the grain/noise. I'm sure it can

be found by most search engines. I'm very pleased withn the results.
