Another Regimental number query

Greetins All.

Just back from the Archive armed with details of a couple of extended family members.

Two of them served in the ASC. Each has the prefix M2/ before their six digit regimental numbers. Any idea why this might be? I've not come across it before.

M2 is electricians

M1 is New Army Mechanical Transport
