Terry Posted 11 June , 2005 Posted 11 June , 2005 I just happened to notice that the casualty listed for 10 June was one of the RNAS's many Canadian flyers - John G. Manuel, from Edmonton,Alberta. Originally a gunner in the CEF, he was wounded; joined the RNAS in 1917, flew mostly with 10(N) and 210 Squadrons; earned a DSC and MID; racked up 13 victories (with all but three destroyed and these three out of control), and was finally killed in a collision with Lieut.F.C.Dodd. One of nearly two hundred Canadians to achieve ace status in the Great War (using the standards of the era, not later criteria).
