chris.wight Posted 9 June , 2005 Share Posted 9 June , 2005 According to the Royal Canadian Regiment War Diary entry for November 1, 1916, he was wounded while taking part in a patrol of Frenchman's Sap. Ten others were killed and two wounded. It appears the casualties were the result of friendly fire. Here is the actual entry from the War Diary, link. Boreenatra Posted 11 June , 2005 Author Share Posted 11 June , 2005 John. Perhaps he was in a local hospital. From the little bits of info about him being wounded perhaps the local connection is there, or the RAF connection. Regards Steve.
