Guest Hill 60 Posted 5 July , 2003 Share Posted 5 July , 2003 I've read, elsewhere on the 'net, that Indian soldiers received the 1914 Christmas tins but with spices (?) in them. If this is correct, have any of them survived and if so has any Pal seen one?

Joe Sweeney Posted 5 July , 2003 Share Posted 5 July , 2003 Lee, Indian troops received a few varieties of boxes. Gurkhas recieved the same box as British Troops Sihks recieved the box with sugar candy, and a tin of spices and the Christmas card. All other Indian troops recieved the box with a packet of cigarettes and sugar candy, a tin of spices and the card. Authorized Camp followers (Bhistis) recieved the tin of spices and the card.
