Blackie250 Posted 3 June , 2005 Share Posted 3 June , 2005 I have a man with the Black Watch his original regimental number is 30815, is anyone out there able to make an educated guess as to a rough period that this block 3**** number starts to appear?. Obviously it is late war possibly even post war, but pre army order 1920, with the allocation of new numbering system.
HarryBettsMCDCM Posted 5 June , 2005 Share Posted 5 June , 2005 A Five figure number would generally indicate a "Derby" man ie a conscript,or at least a late enlistee.
Muerrisch Posted 5 June , 2005 Share Posted 5 June , 2005 in RWF he would be mid-1915 ie a Kitchener man.
