Remembered Today:

Keeping Their Memories Alive

Harbourart

Recommended Posts

I have been researching the Great War for my photography degree dissertation, mainly by interviewing its few surviving veterans.

Now it is complete, here is an open invite to any of you close enough to Bolton, Lancs who would like to see it. For those further afield there is an online version at www.harbourart.co.uk/war.

The opening night is 20th June from 6.30pm to 9.00pm, it will then run until 24th June 10am to 4pm.

I would appreciate any feedback regarding my work.

Thanks,

Pete

Pete,

Thankyou for the link to your website, I have just taken a look.

You have done a tremendous job, absolutely superb.

How wonderful to have met those veterans.

It brought a lump to my throat listening to them talk of their experiences.

I will be showing it to my two young nieces ( 9 & 10), they attend the Remembrance Day parade each year and ask questions and show a keen interest and I think it will be nice for them to be able to see and hear your interviews with the veterans. What a lovely tribute.

Regards,

Donna :)

Very well done, Pete. How moving to see these old boys. It must have been quite an experience for you, to actually meet and chat with them.

I reckon you should approach Channel 4 for a series of the 5 minute community slots - they usually go out after the 7.00 pm news.

Good luck.

Thanks again for the support.

I did think about approaching TV but I want to continue with the vets and try to see the 6 still living that I have not yet met. Maybe then I will talk to TV companies.

Mandy the website url was in the first posting, but here it is again http://www.harbourart.co.uk/war

Thanks again to you all.
