I sure the battalion were in the front line in the attack near Solesmes.

A DCM to Cpl Markinson for this date would seam to confrim this??

Correct me if I'm wrong!! - :lol:

His first regimental number - 1658, would to me say he was pre war (T.F)?? Second Number 305208 - 1917 change?

You probably have this already.

Award Gazetted 14th February, 1919, Gazette Issue 31186.

Interesting to note he was also holder of MM, Gazetted 7th February 1919, Issue 31173.

A little off topic, but interesting all the same.

So why did his number change while still with the same regiment, I'm on the right lines - T.F pre war. ??
