Guest scott leader Posted 3 June , 2005 Share Posted 3 June , 2005 I sure the battalion were in the front line in the attack near Solesmes. A DCM to Cpl Markinson for this date would seam to confrim this?? Correct me if I'm wrong!! - His first regimental number - 1658, would to me say he was pre war (T.F)?? Second Number 305208 - 1917 change?
Chris Noble Posted 3 June , 2005 Share Posted 3 June , 2005 You probably have this already. Award Gazetted 14th February, 1919, Gazette Issue 31186. Interesting to note he was also holder of MM, Gazetted 7th February 1919, Issue 31173. A little off topic, but interesting all the same. Regards, Chris.
