Sparky53 Posted 1 June , 2005 Share Posted 1 June , 2005 I have just received new information about my Grandfather. It wound seem he was wounded on 4 May 1915 at Hill 60 with 4 Gordons. Would anyone know to where he might have been taken and if there is any chance of his medical records being at the PRO? Thank you
Chris_Baker Posted 1 June , 2005 Share Posted 1 June , 2005 There is around a 1 in 3 chance that his service record has survived. If it has, there is a good chance it contains medical information, including the Field Ambulance, CCS and hospitals he went to. There is a complete list of CCSs and their locations, at http://www.1914-1918.net/ccs.htm. In 1915, CCSs behind the Ypres salient were No 2- Bailleul No 3 - Poperinghe No 5- Poperinghe No 8 - Bailleul.
