Mat McLachlan Posted 1 June , 2005 Share Posted 1 June , 2005 Hi all, I know that in the Fromelles area there are two 'Hitler bunkers' - the new one and the old one. From what I've read, the new one is considered more likely to have been occupied by Hitler (and was the one he was filmed visiting in 1940). Can someone please give me directions to both bunkers? Cheers, Mat PS: I'm off the the Western Front for three weeks tomorrow, so look out for me!

Mat McLachlan Posted 1 June , 2005 Author Share Posted 1 June , 2005 Thanks Laurent. That's the 'old' Hitler bunker taken care of. Anyone know where the 'new' one is? Mat
AOK4 Posted 1 June , 2005 Share Posted 1 June , 2005 Hello, None of the alleged Hitler bunkers were there when Hitler was in the area (1916), as they were only built in 1917. Hitler was however on the locations of these bunkers because they were built where there had been trenches and structures before. healdav Posted 4 November , 2005 Share Posted 4 November , 2005 Have a look at the 'After the Battle' magazines. Some years ago they had a long article on the Hitler bunkers.
manchester terrier Posted 30 January , 2006 Share Posted 30 January , 2006 so does Hitlers obsession with underground headquarters in WW2 come from his bunker experiences of WW1?
