Jock Bruce Posted 29 May , 2005 Share Posted 29 May , 2005 Strictly speaking there were no 'army' numbers in the WW1 era. Each regiment and corps had its own numbering system. This means that it is possible for the same number to occur many times. To add to the complications, it was possible for the same number to occur several times in each infantry regiment.
