A soldier that I am researching served with 1st South Lancashires in Quetta during the war. They were under orders of the 2nd Quetta (11th) Brigade.

At some point he became Pte 176803 with the Machine Gun Corps. I am assuming he transferred from the infantry - but cane anyone tell me when this might have been, and which Company he might have joined? Better yet - what did they do?

My grandfather was with 1st. Bn Royal Warwickshire Regiment in Quetta from 1904 to 1906, hence the interest.

Hi Chris

With such a high number he probably transferred to the MGC as late as August/September 1918.
