HERITAGE PLUS Posted 3 July , 2003 Share Posted 3 July , 2003 Air Commodore Peter Dye is today launching an appeal at RAF Innsworth in Gloucestershire to raise funds for a new memorial to commemorate WW1 air crew. The aim is to raise £30,000 for the memorial planned to be sited at St.Omer. It is hoped that the memorial will be in place in time to celebrate the 90th Anniversary of the first RFC Units flying from St.Omer, in September 2004. RAF Innsworth is the HQ of RAF Personnel & Training Command (RAF PTC).
