paul guthrie Posted 18 May , 2005 Share Posted 18 May , 2005 By Alexander Woolcott, Sergeant, 1919. This is a collection of stories from the AEF newspaper, really good. The AEF, not surprisingly considering it had 2 million men at the end, had some fine writers some of whom found their way to S&S. One story, Verdun Belle about a marine, a trench dog and her pups is guaranteed to reduce any animal lover to tears. Unfortunately I am not aware of a reprint and assume there is none but if you see it grab it.
