steve_child00 Posted 17 May , 2005 Share Posted 17 May , 2005 Could anyone give me any information on 15726 private Albert Beeston of the West Yorkshire regt, 1st Battalion, who lived in Leeds? I have his 14-15 star, victory medal and death plaque. He was killed in action 12th oct 1916 aged 40, buried in Bancroft cemetry. I would think he was a regular soldier being 40 years old in the first world war and am now wondering if he might have also served in the Boer war. I am gathering information to pass onto his great grandson who also lives in Leeds. Any battalion information about the days round his death or any other info at all would be nice.
