Hi Pals

Does anyone happen to have this diary at all. Have a family of brothers Im looking into & they all served with the 5th at some point.

Thanks Pals

Hello again Steve,

I have photocopies or transcripts of most of the casualty lists from the 5th Gordons war diary, but only for May 1915 (arrival in France) - Nov 1916 (Beaumont Hamel). I have transcribed them to a spread sheet so can easily send them to you if you want. I can't remember if I've already done this before when we corresponded. Perhaps it was just the Battalion Roll I sent then. Anyway, let me know if you want the list of casualties (wounded, dead and missing).

Hi again Carolyn

Hows the students?! You did, but you were doing something extra to it from memory.

As far as casualties go, Im still looking for Pte James Sutherland who was wounded in the knee & went to Harrogate Hossy, then returned to France to earn his MM.

But the diary is still my "grail" on this family, as all 3 brothers went into the 5th Btn.

Thanks Carolyn. Hope youre keeping well & speak to you soon

Steve
