Guest Dazzy Posted 16 May , 2005 Share Posted 16 May , 2005 Dear Forum, My GGFather has served in a US Base in France as "French Délégué" among AEF forces from end 1917 to end 1918. My questions are : is there a possibility that US Army or Navy could have given him the "DSMM US Ribbon" for his part taken during this year ? I have a painted portrait of him, and he wears a ribbon on his jacket similar to the one of the DSSM (blue- white- red -white- blue). There is no such colours for French distinctions (medal, ribbon). Pehaps a list of people having received it is available somewhere ? Thank you in advance Regards Dazzy
kin47 Posted 16 May , 2005 Share Posted 16 May , 2005 Hello Dazzy This is not really my subject, but have you tried www.usmm.org? This website has considerable WW I information and may have the information or the links to answer this question and your earlier one. Good luck. don
