Jojessholli Posted 14 May , 2005 Share Posted 14 May , 2005 On my granddads medal card there are three sets of numbers (top right hand corner) that have been hand written - can anyone tell me what they might be? Are they important or are they simply some form of indexing or referencing system?
HarryBettsMCDCM Posted 14 May , 2005 Share Posted 14 May , 2005 I doubt that they are important in reference to the award of the MM,all the important data is on the actual Card under the relevant headings,I suspect that the code in the top right hand corner are just internal indexing or auditing for WO/MoD Reference,or something similar. KONDOA Posted 14 May , 2005 Share Posted 14 May , 2005 Edwin, The numbers normally refer to the last accession by the army medals office for some reason. Does the date correspond any way with his death as they sometimes do. Roop

Thanks for your feedback.
