Strange numbers on Medal Card

post-7061-1116094535.jpgOn my granddads medal card there are three sets of numbers (top right hand corner) that have been hand written - can anyone tell me what they might be? Are they important or are they simply some form of indexing or referencing system?

I doubt that they are important in reference to the award of the MM,all the important data is on the actual Card under the relevant headings,I suspect that the code in the top right hand corner are just internal indexing or auditing for WO/MoD Reference,or something similar.

Edwin,

The numbers normally refer to the last accession by the army medals office for some reason. Does the date correspond any way with his death as they sometimes do.

No he died in 1971 - I have a feeling they are simply some form of internal indexing as already suggested. Thanks for your feedback.
