Hi all,

I've just come back from photographing graves in Shorncliffe Military Cemetery which, I believe, is where soldiers if they died in Shorncliffe Military Hospital. Found 5 or so Australian soldiers, too. I also took pics of high-ranking officers' graves jsut for the heck of it, as well as a couple of VCs. I also found 2 female graves, 1 was a canadian nurse and the other n Airforce "volunteer".

ALso the mausoleum in which a number of Belgian casualties has been replaced by a memorial. I do have a comprehensive bboklet with photos of the original monument kindly provied by the local council.

Yes, Hazel, I finally got around to doing this for you.

Robbie

PS This is a beautifully maintained cemetery.

I will post photos later.

PPS. Forgot to say I also took photos of a number of British graves, specifically Flying Corps.

Here is the Memorial to Belgian soldiers.

These men are now buried around this Memorial as the Mausoleum in which they were originally interred was demolished.

The memorial faces towards the Channel and is located on a high point of the cemetery.

I've just downloaded a number of photos of headstones belonging to men from the Chinese Labour Corps who died in Shorncliffe Hospital. Here is the group shot. If anyone wants copies of individual photos PM me.
