Mark Hone Posted 13 May , 2005 Share Posted 13 May , 2005 Has anyone come across one of those 'Heroes of the Empire'-type drawings of the John Lynn posthumous VC action during 2nd Ypres? Lynn, who had already won the DCM was a member of 2nd Lancashire Fusiliers. Although the action took place after the Gallipoli landings, John Lynn was actually gazetted before the 'six VCs before breakfast' and was therefore the first LF to be awarded the VC in the Great War.
