Does anyone have information about a Lieutenant Davidson 2nd Bn? Manchester Regiment captured near Soden Redoubt at the northern end of Redan Ridge 18th November 1916? Any details would be appreciated as would a photograph if possible.

The only thing I can add is that he was repatriated on the 1st of January 1919 and he was captured with the following:-

Capt B.R. Erskine

2nd Lt G.B.Griffin

2nd Lt E.E.J. Henderson

2nd Lt N.F.Harley

and 2nd Lt F Harbron

All the best Hambo

Many thanks for your contribution. It all helps. Any other thoughts from anyone would also be gratefully received.

Tucked away in the regimental archive, there's file of photos taken of POWs. Unfortunately none are identified (and I only came across it by accident a couple of years ago). I think the archive is still closed, as its new building isnt yet ready, but a phone call to the museum but be worth while.

I assume that there'll be an account of the action in Whylly's History (don't have a copy. Sorry).
