2lewis's Posted 10 May , 2005 Share Posted 10 May , 2005 Hello, I am trying to trace a copy of Twice in a Lifetime by M L Walkinton published by Samson Books in 1980. Does anyone have a clue as to how I could get a copy of this out of print book? I am especially interested in the time he spent with the 24th Coy MGC where he was wounded. Any pointers would be most welcome Cheers Mark
Tom Morgan Posted 10 May , 2005 Share Posted 10 May , 2005 Mark, there are some used copies on Amazon - This link should take you to a listing. Tom
ypres1418 Posted 10 May , 2005 Share Posted 10 May , 2005 hi, have you tried all the book clubs on-line? also you might try the library, sometimes they put books away and then sell them later if they have'nt gone out in a while. hope this helps, Mandy
Paul Reed Posted 10 May , 2005 Share Posted 10 May , 2005 John at the Shell Hole in Ypres has at least one copy as well; it's a very good book. The author also took part in the Christmas Truce.

DirtyDick Posted 10 May , 2005 Share Posted 10 May , 2005 My copy was published in 1980 by Samson Books. ISBN-0-906304-05-9 However, although there is no reference to reprints I am convinced mine is a much later reprint given its format, condition and price (£9-50). Paul Reed Posted 10 May , 2005 Share Posted 10 May , 2005 Richard - that is the one and only edition of the book. The author was alive then, and an early member of the WFA; he also appeared on the Malcolm Brown 'Christmas Truce' programme.
