Guest Hill 60 Posted 29 June , 2003 Share Posted 29 June , 2003 The Medal Yearbook 2003 states there were 134 silver and 574 bronze medals issued. Prices for unattributable awards: silver = £500-750 & bronze = £300-
Guest Ian Bowbrick Posted 29 June , 2003 Share Posted 29 June , 2003 Been offered a bronze one, if I get it will post a piccie. A lot less than £300 though! Ian

Ian Ian - The trouble with using the Medal Yearbook is that the prices are only a guide. I've seen medals priced in the book for a couple of hundred quid go for a thousand. If your medal is a genuine one, then I'm jealous
Staffsyeoman Posted 29 June , 2003 Share Posted 29 June , 2003 Not the fault of Medals Yearbook. Medal pricing is not an exact science, expecially if they come to auction. John Mussell, Editor in Chief of Medal News/Medals Yearbook was quite open about this. Token Publishing do exhaustive research with collectors, dealers and auction houses to come up with their guide - I stress that - guide - prices. There are so many variables to be considered. Such as: Scarce to regiment? Condition? Damaged? Rank of recipient? Broken from a group? etc etc etc. And if you get a bidding war in the auction room, well, sky's the limit. Yes, Allied Subjects' Medals are rare. But they were issued (officially) unnamed and are difficult to research. BTW - Raymond Holdich has a MINIATURE ASM in bronze for £80....
