Guest Ian Bowbrick Posted 29 June , 2003 Share Posted 29 June , 2003 Were any of the pipes given with the gift tins monogramed like the bullet pencils? Ian
Paul Reed Posted 30 June , 2003 Share Posted 30 June , 2003 The one I have has the M monograph. It is on the bowl from memory.
fatbob Posted 30 June , 2003 Share Posted 30 June , 2003 Hi Ian, I had a similar thread going a while ago about the pipes. I was lucky enough to get a framed Mary tin with contents, the card and photo were framed seperately. In the same frame as the tin there is a pipe which I assumed came with the tin as it had not been used.It would seem strange that someone would go to the trouble of putting an unrelated pipe in the same frame. Close examination of this pipe showed no sign of the monogram. It does have a manufacturers name on it which I forget now (I'm not at home at the moment so can't check it). I believe that Harrods gave some of the pipes for the tins, maybe I've got a posh one!! Fatbob.
Guest Ian Bowbrick Posted 3 July , 2003 Share Posted 3 July , 2003 Thanks Paul & FB, I am a bit dubious about something that has been offered to me, which has a faded monogram on the stem I think I will pass on it! Ian
