Guest suexx Posted 8 May , 2005 Share Posted 8 May , 2005 Hi, This is my first attempt at trying to trace army records and would be very grateful for your opinions. I have a copy of the Medal Index Card for Percival C GRAY, he is listed as being a private in the 2nd London Regiment no. 6222 and then in the Labour Corps no. 411574, he was entitled to the Victory and the British medals. My G Grandfather, Percival Charles GRAY was born and lived most of his life in Islington. He would have been 33 years old in 1913 and was a house painter by trade. Would living in Islington mean that he would automatically join the 2nd London Regiment? Would he have returned home before joining the Labour Corps? He had a son in 1908 and then another in 1916, maybe this would explain the large gap. In your opinion, do you think he is likely to be the person on the Index card? Many Thanks Suexx
