At the same front opposing his coy, the very same day, died two Brit soldiers. Can anybody trace HOW they died/ what was the cause of their death? 1. Private R.V. BOWLES, UK, DCLI 1stBn; service no 41263 2. Private B DEMMERY, UK, 95th Machine Gun Coy; service no 103233, husband of L.G. KONDOA Posted 1 May , 2005 Share Posted 1 May , 2005 Robert Vincent Bowles was born at Plaitford, Hampshire and enlisted at Southampton. He was Killed in Action 1.5.18 and had previously been 8/7707 T.Reserve Battalion. Bert Demmery was born at Kingswood, Gloucestershire and enlisted at Bristol.
